Alter System Remoteloginpasswordfile Parameter Exclusive
Remote login passwordfile is specify that need to verify from the password file or OS authentication for login into the Oracle Server. Default value of parameter is exclusive. For modify the value need to reboot the Oracle Database Server.
ORA-02095: specified initialization parameter cannot be modified I tried to change parameter value in initSid.ora file and recreated spfile from pfile but after that I was not able to open the database so I undo the changes and recreated spfile again as set remote_login_passwordfile= exclusive
remote_login_passwordfile ====> is non modifiable parameters this parameter is non modifiable. mean you have to restart oracle server to make any changes. 1. alter system set remote_login_passwordfile = [value] 2. shutdown 3. startup or 1. shutdown 2. edit pfile and make changes in remote_login_passwordfile 3. create spfile from pfile 4. startup
Tom, My database is 184.108.40.206. The oracle document says the remote_login_passwordfile MUST be NONE if using OS authentication. Below is what i got and it seems the document is not true, because i can still use OS authentication while the parameter is set to EXCLUSIVE can you explain it.
alter system set remote_login_passwordfile = 'NONE' scope = spfile; The above SQL*Plus command will set the parameter to take effect at next system startup. Scope, Define, and Maintain Regulatory Demands Online in Minutes.
"I am just wondering, the startup parameters in the log file" Correct. In fact, as soon as you do: alter system set xxx = yyy scope=spfile; then the SPFILE no longer reflects the current running parameters, and similarly: alter system set xxx = yyy scope=system; means the system has been changed away from the current spfile settings.
